1. Rotate the rounded cover until the black dot aligns with "OPEN". Then, pull the cover to expose the battery compartment.
2. Insert one AA battery with the positive pole facing outside.
3. Push the cover back into the unit with the black dot aligning with "OPEN".
4. Rotate the cover until the black dot reaches "ON" to switch on the unit. To switch off, simply rotate the cover back to the "OFF" position.
